When I first visited England, I wanted to see Thomas in a cinema to celebrate and it was convenient that at the time, a Thomas special was showing and it was about Thomas visiting England for the first time. 🙂

A Long, Rough Day at Work - September 15th 2023

Working my usual 5:30am to 11am shift when I found out that they needed another crew member to fill in until 4pm. I accepted the extra hours to make up for taking Sunday off. (I have plans tomorrow night that will keep me out late).

It was a rough shift. Very busy. Very, very busy. I mean, where do these people come from?

After work and a nice walk home in the sunshine, I tried to relax. Ended up watching National Treasure 2, as I'd watched the first one last night. 

By then, it was time to go to bed and do it all over again in the morning.

Here's a picture of my brothers and I when we lived next to a historic railroad depot. We'd call out "look it's Thomas! look it's Percy!" Even though our engines looked nothing like them. 😂

Finally Tried the Pizza Shop Nearby - September 14th 2023

Slept in, I've not been quite right since I got this infection again. Though it is almost certainly just a mental and emotional thing. I've also stayed up too late a couple of nights. This morning I was running late for work, but still stopped to take a picture of the sky - the stars were beautiful and actually so vibrant that they showed up in the photo.

Upon arriving at work I found that it was just me and the manager, the crew member that was meant to be putting truck away had called off sick. After struggling through the morning as I have been without the card reader. I got to go outside and change the sign and then went and put the fridge and freezer stuff away. All took a bit longer than I thought it would. Got out of work at 12:30.

On the way home, I decided to stop by Gionino's for the first time. Got myself a large pepperoni and a 2 litre of Starry. Upon returning home, I continued to save things from my old Facebook and watched some movies.

A Very Foggy Morning - September 13th 2023

It was an unusually foggy morning and I took plenty of pics on my way to work. I put in my shift, stressful as it has been lately. 

Got home, continued to sort through my old memories on the old Facebook and tidy things up around the house. 

I did take a walk back up to Wendy's for more food later in the afternoon, because I didn't feel like cooking. 

Other than that, a rather uneventful day. 

77 Days: Countdown to the An Unlikely Fandom Premiere

 Here's a funny one, when I was a kid and we were driving somewhere or any other time I'd ask "how long until" and my parents would say "half an hour" and then, inevitably, I would ask "how long is that" and they began to answer "about a Thomas tape" (for the kids: before DVDs, there were these things called VHS cassettes) and that became a standard unit of measurement (Americans /will/ use anything but the metric system) for my brothers and I throughout our childhood. Ironically, the tapes in question - the three pictured below were watched often - all list their runtime as "approx 40 minutes," something I pointed out to my parents as a teen, with some amusement.

The Thomas fan community's very own documentary, An Unlikely Fandom, premieres in NYC on November 27th - in just 77 days.

Honestly, the Salad Was Amazing - September 12th 2023

Continuing to take my antibiotics and struggle through at work with the broken card reader. Until the new one arrives, which could take a month, I have to run back and forth across the kitchen. 

Continued on with everything at home, including spending hours sorting through my old Facebook - which I've been working on since Sunday.  

I took a break from everything later in the afternoon and went to the Ohio Grille for a salad. Figured I might as well eat good while I try to heal and have a few money. 

I also noticed that even in the rain, landscaping / construction continues on the lot next to the auto parts store. I first noticed it yesterday, while donating the books. Will this be the Dunkin' Donuts.

Pumpkins and Books - September 11th 2023

I was relieved that after two days off work and off my feet, that my first shift back was a short one - I worked from 5:30 to 10:00.

Today was the day we rolled out pumpkin flavored everything at Wendy's. We have pumpkin flavored frosties and pumpkin cold brew. All the prices went up again too, 10 or 20 cents. 

I forgot to mention, I got paid for some website work yesterday, so I ate good after work and watched several movies and a documentary. 

Tidied up around the house and decided it was high time to finish sorting my books. I sorted through the huge stack, decided which to keep and which to donate and Mom & Dad were kind enough to help me deliver them. 

Once that was done, I bought us all subs and we watched some shows.

Afternoon with Family - September 10th 2023

Still taking my antibiotics and hoping to get better fast. 

Mom texted me and asked if I wanted to come down to family dinner and I said yes. (I had forgotten it was Sunday and had planned to spend the day working on my projects and catching up on some stuff.)

Nathanael came down and ate with Mom, Dad and I. Mitchell wasn't able to make it, but we swung by his house before I went home to see him.

Since I wasn't working on the stuff I thought I would work on today, during the afternoon I started going through my old Facebook to make sure I saved everything I wanted to save and make a little record of it all. 

At the end of the day, I went home and got to bed to prepare for my breakfast shift at Wendy's in the morning.

Dealing with Cellulitis - September 9th 2023

So today was supposed to be the day that I went to prom, I'd been invited to an adult prom in Canton and had been looking forward to it for some time when I began feeling sick yesterday and had some redness on my leg, indicating my cellulitis was flaring back up. 😔

So, I had to cancel on my prom date and see a doctor ASAP - cellulitis is a serious infection, caused by a bacteria similar to the bacteria that causes strep throat. (At least that's what I learned on Google.)

I had the day off from work due to originally having plans to work a Dave Chappelle show last night, but since I ended up not taking the job and the thing with my leg - I eventually drug myself out of bed and decided to walk to Stat Care because I didn't have anybody to give me a ride.

I got in and seen and a prescription in about 25 minutes. Also got a Doctor's note for tomorrow. Dropped it off at Wendy's and then went home to rest. 

Had to wait to bum some money off a family member to pay for my prescription. But once I got the money, I walked out to the drug store and got my antibiotics and used the few dollars I had left to walk across the street to the grocery store and buy a meat and cheese tray (I had a craving). 

I watched some more shows and called it a night.

Not feeling great today, but we're only 81 days from the premiere of An Unlikely Fandom!
